Arlberg is among one of the snowiest regions in the Alps. The Arlberg skiing region is located just over an hour away from Innsbruck airport. It not only offers some of the best developed skiing areas with challenging slopes but also provides numerous options for free riders. St. Anton distinguishes itself from other ski resorts as a result of its lively nightlife and its multiple après-ski opportunities. In St. Christoph, you will find some of the best hotels in the Alps but the town itself is very small and quiet.
In the western part of Arlberg lies Lech and Zürs, these villages show off the glamorous and luxurious sides to skiing. You will find celebrities and often members of royalty families spending their winter vacations here. There are also top quality off- and on-mountain restaurants. In Stuben and Pettneu everything is much more affordable – however don’t expect a great nightlife or luxury hotels. Over the course of the last few years there has been continuous investment in the lift infrastructure in the skiing region, subsequently, a variety of modern, comfortable lifts are available and queues are uncommon.
The connection from Lech to Warth and Schröcken and the announcement of plans to connect ski lifts between the east and west part of Arlberg make it one of the largest and most attractive skiing resorts in the Alps. On the whole, we would recommend Arlberg for skilled skiers, people who are interested in enjoying the night life and après-ski events but also to families. The ski schools in St. Anton and Lech are among some of the most renowned and most respected in Austria. However, if you are a fan of empty, flat slopes or a beginner you are better off going to other places like Selva di Val or Sölden
